In a departure from traditional exhibition pavilions, the intent was to create an extraordinary ornament that would captivate and inspire visitors at a national tradeshow.

Tasked with showcasing carpets, the design challenged conventional notions of display by reimagining the humble carpet as a dynamic and visually stunning centerpiece.

Drawing inspiration from the ethereal beauty of clouds, our pavilion was conceptualized as a mesmerizing formation of carpet modules suspended above the display space, evoking a sense of movement and fluidity. The approach not only showcased the versatility of carpets beyond their traditional surface application but also served as a striking visual metaphor for creativity and imagination.

Each carpet module was crafted with hinged joinery, allowing for modular flexibility and modulation within the metaphorical cloud. This ingenious design feature enabled us to manipulate the shape and curvature of the cloud, creating dynamic visual compositions that mesmerized and delighted visitors.

To ensure structural integrity and stability, a balance was struck between form and function. Strategic insertion of individual modules acted as stiffeners, providing reinforcement and limiting the curvature of the cloud wherever needed.

This thoughtful integration of structural elements seamlessly blended with the artistic vision, resulting in a harmonious fusion of aesthetics and engineering. As visitors entered the pavilion, the carpets transcended their traditional role to become a symbol of artistic expression and imagination.

The dynamic interplay of light and shadow, coupled with the fluid movement of the carpet modules, transformed the space into an immersive sensory experience that left a lasting impression on all who beheld it. In essence, the pavilion represented more than just a showcase of carpets; it was a celebration of ingenuity,

craftsmanship, and the boundless potential of design to inspire and enchant. By pushing the boundaries of traditional exhibition design, we created an extraordinary ornament that not only elevated the humble carpet to new heights but also sparked conversations and ignited imaginations.
