CRAFT Deli
The conception of CRAFT deli as a project was born from a desire to challenge the conventional notion of a deli located within a mall setting, aiming instead to create a distinctive environment
that stood in stark contrast to the often sterile and impersonal atmosphere prevalent in mall cultures.
Central to this endeavor was the intention to subvert the typical architectural layout characterized by a glass horizontal edge separating the corridor from the revenue-generating space.
In order to achieve this, the design team drew inspiration from the architectural concept of an arcade, harking back to a bygone era characterized by colonnaded walkways that
fostered a sense of intimacy, tranquility, and respite from the bustling world outside. Rather than a straightforward glass barrier, the edge of the deli was meticulously crafted using wooden members that pivot gracefully, serving to delineate the width of each booth while also defining the double height of the facade.
This deliberate choice of materials and form not only imbued the space with a sense of warmth and intimacy but also facilitated a seamless flow between the interior and exterior areas. The service bar and open kitchen, characterized by their sleek and modern design, seamlessly merge with the cozy booth seating,
creating a harmonious juxtaposition of contemporary aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship.
Beyond the confines of the indoor dining area lies an alfresco space, envisioned as a tranquil oasis reminiscent of an enchanted forest illuminated by fireflies.
This metaphorical interpretation of the outdoor environment, with its subtle yet mesmerizing play of light, adds a touch of mystique and surrealism to the dining experience, further enhancing the overall ambiance of the deli.
In essence, CRAFT deli stands as a testament to the power of thoughtful design in transcending the confines of traditional
architectural norms, offering patrons a unique and immersive dining experience that transcends the mundane and elevates the senses.
